Rachelle booked her family photo session with me months ago … we had a very small window of time during which her oldest daughter would be home from college at the same time I would be in town.
Given our limited mutual availability, I’m SO very glad the weather cooperated for our long-anticipated session this last Monday! The rest of this week, The Valley of the Sun was not so sunny … or warm … or dry (crazy weather week out here!).
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Rachelle the last few years, as we have served together at church – working with the youth (12 – 18) and their adult leaders. It’s been so fun for me to get to know her and to build a friendship with her. I love and admire her greatly! She is an outstanding woman, as well as inspiring (she hikes the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, every year!) and, as one might expect, she and her awesome husband, Eric, are raising an equally-outstanding family of 5 daughters and 1 son. They’re a fabulous group of kids … not to mention gorgeous, all of them!).
Rachelle and I have spent the last 3 New Year’s Eves together chaperoning and helping to put on a dance for 200-ish high schoolers. This year, we were once again planning on counting down to the new year together at the dance, but we were let off the hook at the last minute! I didn’t have any back-up plans for the evening, so I’ve spent a nice quiet night at home and have managed to get this Sneak Peek together. Worked out well, didn’t it Rachelle?
I got some beautiful group and individual shots during this session – here are a few of my favorites.
I hope you love them, Rachelle! I can’t wait for you to see the rest when your gallery is ready!
Happy New Year to all!!
